Sarod Mystics and the art of democratic sounds
The trio blends Hindustani classical melodies with ambient Western rhythms — by Barkha Kumari

Where tradition dissolves into discovery
Sarod Mystics is a fusion trio that creates ambient Indo-Western music rooted in the melodies of the Indian Classical Scales. Formed in the misty monsoons of Udaipur in July 2024, the band grew out of spontaneous jam sessions that gradually evolved into a distinct musical voice.
With nearly two decades of combined musical experience, Sarod Mystics continues to push boundaries through immersive improvisations and innovative approaches to composition and production. Their aim: a listening experience that is both meditative and dynamic.
Each album marks a distinct chapter in the band's evolving sonic vocabulary — from classical purity to experimental dialogue to their most ambitious work yet.
From the intimacy of Udaipur's City Palace to the prestige of The Barbican in London and Stanford University — Sarod Mystics has carried their sound across continents.
Features and stories tracing the ensemble's approach to Indo-Western improvisation — in print and online.
